Youth Protection, Training & Health Forms

Pack 502 is run entirely by volunteers. Every leader is required to complete BSA Youth Protection every two years. The training should take about an hour and is for the protection of all Cub Scouts. To complete your Youth Protection training, log in to My.Scouting.org or sign up there to create a new account and you’ll receive an email notification with your account information, including a BSA member ID/reference number. After you complete the Youth Protection training, please email a copy of your certificate to Committee@Troop502.com  If you have a child in the Pack, you should complete the appropriate adventure for their grade and rank.

Every person who participates in basic Scouting activities such as local tours and weekend camping trips must complete the BSA Annual health and medical records form.  This has to be renewed every year. Please bring a copy of the completed health form and a photocopy of your current medical insurance card to a Cub Scout meeting (Please do not e-mail this sensitive and personal information).

Every Scout deserves a fully trained leader. Cub Scout Leadership training is online and only takes a few sessions to complete. Before the Pack can do an overnight camping event, Den Leaders must complete Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation – BALOO,  a 1-1/2 day course to introduce den leaders to the Cub Scout outdoor program and help you understand what it takes to make Pack 502 camping experiences safe and fun. BALOO training starts with an online course and finishes with camping hosted by the Mecklenburg County Council training staff. We like one adult from each den to attend.
