Cub-O-Ree Update: Matthew impacts

From the Cub-o-Ree Council Planning team: decision will be made by end of day Thursday if the event will be rescheduled or go ahead as planned.

• As of right now we are still a “go” for the Fall Cuboree and we are closely monitoring the situation. None of our planned activities will be hugely impacted by rain alone. As with all other district events, a forecast of strictly rain would not be cause for cancellation. After all, this is Scouting, and there is no such thing as bad weather; only inappropriate clothing. ; )

• That being said, the strong winds that could accompany the rainfall from Matthew along with the increased likelihood of lightning IS a major concern. We ran into a similar situation with Trailblazer Day last fall and had to reschedule it due to thunderstorms. The safety of our attendees is the most important consideration and we WILL err on the side of caution.
